Traceable email explained

Guide · Updated August 28, 2026

“Traceable email” on Saleto Mail means messages carry practical context inside the product so you can follow legitimate conversations with confidence. It is not a marketing buzzword and it is not public surveillance. Traceability is designed for mailbox owners and the contacts they choose to work with.

What you see in the mailbox

When you read mail on saleto.com, Saleto shows thread history, folder placement, and tracking references that tie a message to its place in a conversation. If you sent mail and wonder whether someone opened it, read-receipt style notices may appear for eligible Saleto-to-Saleto messages. If you received mail from a new sender, auto-replies may include confirmation numbers that explain whether the message landed in Spam or Safe Inbox.

These details help you answer practical questions: Which message am I looking at? When did it arrive? Does this belong to an ongoing thread? Did my outbound note get opened? That context reduces “lost” mail and mistaken replies to the wrong conversation.

Tracking references and confirmations

Outbound messages can include tracking tags in the subject line. Inbound security notices — for example when a sender’s mail is classified as spam or marked safe — include confirmation numbers so both parties share a reference if support is needed. The exact wording of notices may evolve, but the goal stays the same: make delivery outcomes legible without exposing private mail content to the public internet.

What traceable does not mean

How traceability works with invite-only access
